Cybersecurity is a significant investment focus and growth vertical for IBM in India and the rest of Asia-Pacific.
FREMONT, CA: IBM (NYSE: IBM) plans to teach roughly 500,000 employees in India over the next five years to provide them with specialised cybersecurity capabilities. According to Chris Hockings, Chief Technology Officer, IBM Security APAC, IBM continues to spend extensively in its cybersecurity vertical, one of its fastest-growing businesses in the Asia Pacific (APAC) and India.

Working with an ecosystem of partners, industry associations, and the government, the business intends to train 500,000 Indian residents in cybersecurity.
This occurs when India is more important to IBM's cybersecurity offerings' growth plan. Many of IBM's most important software and security products are made in India before being exported to IBM salespeople worldwide for distribution.
The second such centre after one in Boston, IBM built its first cybersecurity hub for the APAC region in India earlier this year with a multi-million dollar investment.
Hockings claims the India hub is distinct because it combines three essential components under the security brand: a cyber range, an operational command centre, and development security.

According to Hockings, software development facilities in Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, and three locations in India produce the software that we ship to IBM sellers worldwide.

According to the US National Institute of Standards and Technology, a cyber range is an interactive, virtual depiction of an organisation's local network, system, tools, and applications connected to a simulated Internet-level environment. It offers a secure environment for product development and security posture assessment and a safe setting to practise practical cyber skills.
To put those talents to the test in various gamified tasks based on actual cyber-attacks, the simulation is built through IBM's Command Centre facilities, reproducing the environment and pressure authentically.
The new Cyber Range in Bengaluru is the first dedicated facility for this training in the Asia-Pacific, allowing IBM to extend this crisis response training concept to an even broader worldwide audience. Threat Intelligence Index for 2022, a research by IBM's Security X-Force, states that Asia is currently the region most frequently targeted by cyberattacks, accounting for 26 per cent of all attacks examined in 2021.
According to IBM research, India was in second place behind Australia and Japan was among the nations most frequently attacked in Asia.
Most ransomware and phishing assaults in recent years have affected Indian organisations. IBM has created a zero-trust solution that offers a temptation score, tracking the attacker's intentions even before they infiltrate a computer system. From the moment they click the link, the game begins.

IBM is currently developing its quantum computing strategy in India. In September, the company presented its whitepaper, which outlined the future steps for India's chance to develop its quantum computing capabilities.
